As I continue my training to become an osteopathic medical doctor, I’m reminded that the word “doctor” itself comes from the Latin “doctor, doctoris,” which means “teacher; instructor; trainer; doctor; (academic title).” These various meanings feature throughout my background and training.
I’m currently working with the Arkansas College of Health Education’s LGBTQ+ Healthcare Alliance to create Continuing Medical Education modules on caring for LGBTQIA+ patients.
